Blind but Dangerous Tips

The reliable way to survive as a hider is to stay quiet, avoid stacking on teammates, and move after the whistle marks your position. As the Blind Man, listen for the whistle and footsteps, learn the map outline, and save limited ammunition for a real cue.

Start with the win condition

Hiders win by surviving the round; the Blind Man wins by eliminating everyone. Every tip below serves one of those two outcomes. If the roles or the whistle rule are new to you, read the how to play guide first.

The opening seconds are the most dangerous for a hider. The horrible hider badge is awarded for dying in the first five seconds of a round, which tells you how quickly a bad spawn decision can end the round.

Hider habits that keep you alive

Put cover between you and the last place the Blind Man heard. Moving with the group feels safer, but the recordings and Destructoid's overview both show that hiders can push and grab each other. A cluster is a single shotgun target with extra bodies.

  • Break away from the pack. Teammates can grab you and use you as a shield.
  • Move after the whistle, not before it. The whistle tells the Blind Man where you were.
  • Choose a second position before you need it. A hiding spot is spent once the Blind Man arrives.
  • Stay off the open floor at the start. The first five seconds are when the horrible hider badge is easiest to earn by accident.

How to use the whistle timer

The whistle is forced. Hiders have to whistle on a timer, and the sound briefly gives away their position. You cannot avoid it, so use the moment after it: leave the spot that just broadcast and put a wall or a corner behind you.

A short narrated video says the Blind Man gets a hearing pulse every 30 seconds that reveals everyone's location. That is the only source for the number. Plan for a periodic reveal, and treat the exact interval as unconfirmed.

Two different sounds

The whistle is the hiders' forced reveal. The hearing pulse is the Blind Man's ability. The material does not confirm that they share a timer.

Blind Man rhythm: listen, outline, save ammo

The Blind Man starts with almost no vision. Map outlines appear shortly after the round begins, so learn the room layout while you listen. Do not wait for a clean picture; the outline is what you get.

The recorded loadout is a shotgun and a baseball bat, and the shotgun runs dry. In one session the Blind Man says 'I've got no more ammo' and switches to the bat. Fire when a whistle or a footstep gives you a direction, and keep the bat for the distance where a miss costs less.

  • Listen first. The whistle is the loudest cue, and footsteps fill the gaps.
  • Walk the outline. Learn where doors and corners sit before you chase.
  • Do not spray at silence. Ammo is finite, and the recordings show it running out.
  • Switch weapons at close range. The recorded player takes out the bat when the shotgun is not the right tool.

When to push or grab

Pushing is a real, repeatable action. The bully badge asks for pushing the same player ten times in one game, and annoying hider asks for a hundred pushes on the Blind Man in total. Use it to break a shot or to free a teammate, and accept that the shove can also put someone into the line of fire.

Grabbing turns a player into a human shield. Destructoid's overview names that tactic directly, and the xoxo badge rewards grabbing or being grabbed for more than 60 seconds. The grabbed player is the one taking the risk, so a grab that saves you can end a teammate's round.

How the Blind Man avoids being mobbed

Hiders can close from several directions, and a grabbed Blind Man is in trouble. Keep a wall at your back when you can, back out of a cluster instead of standing in it, and use the bat when the gap is too short for a shot.

The recordings show the Blind Man asking teammates for directions and switching to the bat under pressure. Neither is a documented mechanic; both are observations of how the round plays.

Common mistakes

  • Stacking on a teammate and giving the shotgun one target.
  • Running across open floor in the first five seconds.
  • Staying in the spot that just whistled.
  • Spraying the shotgun at a guess and arriving at the fight empty.
  • Forgetting that a teammate can grab you for cover.
  • Treating a fan-wiki keybind as an official control.

Free preparation

The free boost with the clearest public support is the code system. The two reported active codes are worth 500 Coins together, and the official description says a new code arrives every 500 likes. The homepage code desk has the strings and the redemption path; this site has not redeemed them in-game.

The Supporter pass gives x1.5 Coins every round and a daily free shop refresh. It is a purchase, not a requirement. See the game passes page for the full list.

What these tips cannot confirm

  • The exact whistle interval and hearing-pulse interval.
  • Footstep range, shotgun damage, and ammo count.
  • Whether voice chat is required for any action.
  • The best hiding spots on each map; no map data was published.

One recorded group says a call-style action only worked with voice chat. The clip does not identify the action clearly enough to make it a rule here.
